Portugal vs USA

This just might be the most meaningful meaningless match the US national team has played in a long time – and not just because it’s serving as a benefit for wildfire victims in Portugal.

With the pain of missing out on the 2018 World Cup (USA’s first absence from the field since 1986) still setting in, caretaker coach Dave Sarachan has started the process of finding a team that can qualify for Qatar 2022.

Out – at least for Tuesday’s friendly in Leiria – are the old guard: Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley, Tim Howard and more. Sarachan has kept a few veterans around (Alejandro Bedoya, DeAndre Yedlin, John Brooks, Tim Ream) and brought in some little-used players from years past (CJ Sapong, Eric Lichaj, Jorge Villafaña) – but for the most part, Tuesday’s friendly will largely be an audition for new blood, with younger regulars like Christian Pulisic and Bobby Wood staying with their European clubs this time around.

There are plenty of storylines in play, though: Who will emerge as the top ‘keeper, the top center back tandem? Is Yedlin, with 48 caps under his belt, the captain-in waiting?

The questions won’t all be answered on Tuesday. Some of them might not be answered for quite some time. But it’s a start – a chance at a promising start, really – and for now, that has to be enough.

The hosts, who won’t be sitting at home next summer, are also using Tuesday’s friendly to give lesser-used players a shot at filling out the World Cup roster – but coach Fernando Santos has salted his 24-man roster with some players who should present stiff challenges for the young Americans.

Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be there, but 21-year-old striker Andre Silva will, after scoring nine times in 10 World Cup qualifying matches. Portugal’s stable of attackers also includes Eder, who scored the winning goal in the 2016 Euro title match.

And at the other end, the inclusion of Pepe in the defensive corps guarantees that the US forwards will be in for a night – or at least part of one – of being banged around by one of the world’s more physical back-line players.

With Pulisic left off the roster, the US will be looking for someone who can pull strings on the attack – both to push the young star and to provide depth in that playmaking spot.

That’s not the only area which will be under scrutiny. To be fair, though, pretty much all of them will — especially with other possible young contributors staying back in North America for the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs.

There will be eyes be on who pairs with Ream in central defense, or whether Sarachan goes with a young duo – perhaps Cameron Carter-Vickers and Matt Miazga – there.

World in SHOCK : Italy didn’t qualify for the World Cup !

The next World Cup 2018 in Russia will be without ITALY. Sounds shocking  right ?  Italy have failed to qualify for a World Cup for the first time since 1958.
Still Congrats to Sweden who are in the World Cup (1 – 0 aggregate) .
Italy failed to reach Sweden in the second leg and it off to the World Cup .

Phoenix Suns – L.A. Lakers

L.A. Looks To Bounce Back In Phoenix After Rough Opener.

The season opener did not go as the Los Angeles Lakers had planned. The team struggled mightily on offense, ultimately falling to the Clippers 108-92. There is no time to dwell however, as the Lakers head straight to Phoenix to take on the Suns.

Like the Lakers, Phoenix had a season opening home loss they would like to forget as they were dominated 124-76 by the Portland Trail Blazers.

Both the Suns and the Lakers are young teams looking to show growth and development this season. This game will be a great early test for both teams as well as a great chance for the young players to get going.

Three Keys to Lakers Victory

Don’t Hang Your Heads: The Lakers’ struggles on offense led to the team losing confidence in the rest of their game, which can’t happen. The team’s defensive performance against the Clippers was actually decent until their offensive issues continued and their effort faltered. Consistent effort must be a staple, and missed shots can’t allow that to change.

Guard the Three-Point Line: Phoenix isn’t a great team, but they have some players who can get hot, especially from deep. Booker, Bledsoe, and Daniels in particular are extremely dangerous while guys like Warren, Chriss, and Bender can knock shots down as well. Nothing gives a team confidence and a crowd life like getting hot from deep and the Lakers’ cant allow it.

Number One Scorer Emerges: Brook Lopez and Brandon Ingram shot a combined 10-34 last night with Ingram in particular struggling with an abysmal 3-15 showing. The Lakers are struggling to score and it is on their top options to get them out of that slump. Whether it is Ingram or Lopez, a number one option has to step up and get this team going on offense.

Projected Line Ups :

Phoenix :

PG: Eric Bledsoe
SG: Devin Booker
SF: Josh Jackson
PF: T.J. Warren
C: Tyson Chandler

Key Reserves: Tyler Ulis, Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss, Troy Daniels

Lakers :

PG: Lonzo Ball
SG: Brandon Ingram
SF: Luol Deng
PF: Larry Nance Jr.
C: Brook Lopez

Key Reserves: Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, Kyle Kuzma, Alex Caruso, Andrew Bogut, Corey Brewer

Cadiz vs Reus Deportiu

Cadiz will be hoping to back up the fine display from the 0-2 beating of Almeria on the road this Monday when they are set to drop the curtain to the Matchday No 14 in Spanish Segunda Division. The victory would see them go off Reus Deportiu in the middle of the standings with only two points separating the two likes at this stage.

The head to head stats does not promise a thrilling evening of football though with their lone two previous meetings offering no more than a single goal. It ended up in Cadiz’s net back in September last year when Reus Deportiu snatched a narrow 1-0 win in front of their fans. The rematch at Ramon de Carranza saw a goalless draw eight months later.

Both likes will come into this tie on the back of fine defensive performances in the recent weeks as well. The hosts have made it two clean sheets in a row last Sunday as they drew 0-0 with Rayo Vallecano prior to clinching the mentioned away win at Almeria. It was the midfielder Salvi (Salvador Perez) who bagged a brace to become only the fourth man who has scored goals for Submarino in this term of Segunda. David Barral is the one who’ll represent the biggest threat to the visiting defensive line having notched three goals so far for his outfit.

Lopez Garai’s men have, however, been anything but easy to break down so far in the season and they’ll come into this having conceded no more than three goals in last five league outings on the road. The last weekend saw them beat Sporting Gijon 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from their star man Luis Gustavo.

Full Time Winner Odds & Prediction

The hosts are 4/5 favourites to claim the spoils, but the visitors can also be a tough nut to crack away from home. This makes the draw as the best of the betting options at the odds of 9/4.

Italy Sweden

Italy vs Sweden

Italy are facing the prospect of missing out on the World Cup for the first time since 1958 should they fail to overcome Sweden in their crunch play-off game on Monday evening at AC Milan’s San Siro.
Match could be Gianluigi Buffon’s last game for national team.

Team News

  • Italy have plenty to ponder after their 1-0 defeat in the first leg on Friday.
  • Marco Verratti will miss the second leg through suspension, while Leonardo Bonucci may have to play with a face mask after breaking his nose in the first leg.
  • Simone Zaza and Leonardo Spinazzola remain doubts after missing the first leg through first injury.
  • Giampiero Ventura’s gamble to revert back to a 3-5-2 formation and drop Lorenzo Insigne backfired massively in Sweden. Changes will be needed here.
  • Mikael Lustig missed the 1-0 win on Friday through suspension and should slot back in at right-back here.
  • No other changes are expected from the away side as they look to protect their slender advantage.

Match Facts

  • Italy have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches against Sweden in all competitions.
  • Italy have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 7 home matches against Sweden in all competitions.
  • Italy are undefeated in their last 7 home matches against Sweden in all competitions.

Prediction :

Italy – Sweden  | 1 |   1.60

Expected win for ITALY  on this one, but it will be enough  to qualify for the 2018 World Cup?

Combo For Today

This is the ticket for today. On it is three matches that combined gives 4.33 odd. We recommend you to bet medium.

Valencia is favorite against Malaga for today and after two draws it is expected to win easily.

Wigan – Northampton matches usually are over 2.5 goals. And in their previous two head to head matches  weren’t over 2.5 goals. So we think that there will be goals tonight.

And last Emmen – Nijmegen – There are usually a lot of goals in the Netherlands league and cup matches. Emmen know how to score, but also allows a lot of goals this season . After no goals match it is expected to score and maybe allow some goals tonight . Also Nijmegen this season has problem with defending and allows a lot of goals.

All the tips combined make 4.33 odd.

Good Luck, Goal Predictor Team…

Wolfsburg – W.Bremen

The two grappling teams will square off at Volkswagen Arena, where Wolfsburg welcome SV Werder Bremen. Both sides are without their key attackers and in the need of victory that would put them away from the relegation zone.

VfL Wolfsburg

This morning VfL Wolfsburg announced that their manager Andres Jonker won’t continue his career in VfL Wolfsburg. It remains to be seen whether he is to blame as the hosts lack quality in the several positions, particularly the striker now Mario Gomez is sidelined.

So far Wolfsburg have only beaten Eintracht Frankfurt, the team facing the same woes as they are unable to score more than a goal per game.

SV Werder Bremen

Along with FC Koln and SC Freiburg, SV Werder Bremen are one of the three winless teams in Bundesliga. Nouri’s managerial seat is quite shaken and if they suffer a defeat at Volkswagen Arena, he will most likely face the same destiny as Jonker.

The SV Werder Bremen players were unable to win in their last 7 games in the German top flight.

Wolfsburg vs Werder Bremen: Head-to-head

In the last nine competitive matches between the two sides there have been over 2.5 goals scored. It’s quite interesting that in the aforementioned nine clashes there weren’t any draws.

Wolfsburg vs Werder Bremen – Goal Predictor Tip :

Both to Score

In the previous meetings, neither of the two sides had problems in front of goal. An judging by the previous theirs head to head results and the goals per match is it safe to bet on Both To Score.

Goal Predictor Team…

Palermo vs Perugia

Palermos hunting for a return in the Italian High Division has not begun as hoped, at least not in terms of profit. Victory in the Premiere home against Spezia with 2-0, then three straight crosses to Brescia, Empoli and Foggia last. The game has not impressed at all, and just like last season there are big problems with collecting three points.

The ambitions are to take the study back to the top again, but if you continue to underpower as one actually does, reality can be completely different. Bruno Tedino is clearly a pressed manager, just as always when playing under a certain Zamparini. Federico Giuntis Perguia comes to the match with a self-esteem called Duga.

Ten points earned after four played rounds, and one has impressed a lot. In the premiere, you drove over Virtus Entella on the way out, a victory followed by a 4-2 victory against Pescara. Nine goals ahead after the first two rounds. In the third round, the season’s first scoring team came 1-1 against Cittadella, not to be ashamed when opposed to a basically incredibly strong team. Last came a Serie A-hunting Parma on a visit and there were no strangers – 3-0 quite comfortable and a new treadmaker collected.

To top the table at the time of writing does not surprise me at all, especially considering the cyclical offensive of the season. 13 goals scored after four played rounds, these are extremely impressive numbers. No less than four attackers have gotten in the goal record, which testifies to a scattered goalkeeper.

Wigan vs Northampton

On Tuesday promotion hopefuls Wigan host 17th placed Northampton Town at The DW Stadium as the home side look to carry on their good start to the season.

Wigan finished 23rd in the Championship last season and were relegated back to League One. However, since relegation, the Latics have brought in former Portsmouth boss Paul Cook, and Cook has brought in twelve new players to the DW. Wigan have endured a decent start to the season with The Tics winning five of their seven league games. The clubs only loss in the league has come against an unbeaten Shrewsbury side who narrowly beat Wigan 1-0.

While Northampton have endured a rollercoaster start to the season. Justin Edinburgh was appointed manager in January and kept the Cobblers up last season. However, he was sacked on Deadline Day after Northampton lost their opening four games. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has since come in and steadied the ship. He is so far unbeaten since taking charge.

Both teams come into this game high on confidence. Wigan have won their last two games 3-0 against Charlton and Bristol Rovers respectively. They currently sit fifth in League One, and a win could see them move up as far as second.

While Northampton are unbeaten in their last three. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has guided his side to two wins against Doncaster and Portsmouth and a respectable 2-2 draw away at Southend. Since coming in the former Chelsea striker has taken Northampton from 23rd position to 17th and with the Cobblers finally playing with confidence, they will have every chance of taking something from the game.

Previous Meeting

Last time these two met was in April 2003 where Wigan ran out 2-0 winners. Wigan won the league that season while Northampton Town finished bottom of Divison Two. Northampton’s most recent win against Wigan came in 2001 where they emerged 1-0 winners.

Head to Head

Despite not playing each other since 2003 the two sides have faced each other on 33 occasions. Wigan have won 16 of the 33 games while Northampton have been victorious on five occasions against Wigan. There have been twelve draws between the two sides.

Team News

The Latics will be without former Oxford defender Cheyenne Dunkley who is serving the last match of his three-game ban. On loan keeper, Christian Walton is also out with an ankle injury. Nick Powell was forced off with an injury against Bristol Rovers, but it’s not yet known whether he’ll be fit to play against Northampton.

The Cobblers will be without John-Joe O’Toole, Sam Hoskins and Aaron Phillips who are long-term absentees. While Shaun McWilliams and George Smith are both out with injuries as well. Key man Matt Crooks is also suspended for the game.
